A narrow record of what this artwork's website does—and does not—collect.

Information collection
The Visitors' Register asks for a public name and a short public message. A real name is not required. The project does not request an email address, account, or contact information through the register.
Register submissions are published as part of the artwork's public record. Names are supplied by visitors and are not authenticated or verified. Visitors should not include email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, or other private information in a name or message.
The hosting and network services that deliver the website may process ordinary technical request data, such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and time of access, for security, reliability, and delivery.

Live media and external services
When the installation is live, the site may load an embedded video player from the project's Owncast service at live.waitingforlightning.art. Links to YouTube, X, and LinkedIn open those services directly. Their own privacy policies apply when a visitor uses them.

Project records
The public archive records events from the Minecraft performance—such as labor, field progress, weather, death, and lightning. It is a record of the artwork, not a visitor-tracking system.
The register stores the chosen public name, message, and submission time. An essential random browser token supports a ten-minute submission cooldown; cooldown records older than 24 hours are deleted during later register submissions. The token is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking, and the project does not store an IP address with a register entry.
To request removal of a register entry, write to contact@waitingforlightning.art and identify the name, message, and approximate date.
